Your calculations

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in JavaScript within your browser. When you enter a salary, a property price, an energy usage figure or any other value, that data is processed locally on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, not stored in any database, and not accessible to us or any third party.

This is a deliberate architectural choice, not a policy promise. The data physically cannot reach us because it is never sent. Closing or refreshing the page discards all entered values.

Analytics

We use anonymous analytics to understand which calculators are most used and how people navigate the site. This helps us prioritise which tools to build and improve. The data collected includes:

• Pages visited and approximate time spent
• Referring website (how you arrived at ClearCost UK)
• Browser type and device category (mobile / desktop)
• Country-level location (not precise location)

This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users. We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses in identifiable form, or any data you enter into calculators.

Advertising

ClearCost UK displays adverts provided by Google AdSense to fund the site. Google may use cookies to serve adverts based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings.

We do not share your calculation data with advertisers. Advertisers receive only the standard signals available to all publishers - page category, approximate location, and device type.

Cookies

ClearCost UK uses a small number of cookies:

• cc-theme - stores your light/dark theme preference. Contains no personal data. Expires when cleared.
• Google Analytics cookies - anonymous session and traffic data as described above.
• Google AdSense cookies - used by Google to serve and measure advertisements.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect the functionality of any calculator on this site.

Third parties

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Fonts - to load the typefaces used on this site. Google may log the font request.
• Google Analytics - anonymous usage analytics as described above.
• Google AdSense - display advertising as described above.

We do not sell, rent or share your data with any other third parties. We do not use data brokers or marketing platforms.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have rights including the right to access data we hold about you, the right to have it corrected, and the right to have it deleted. Because we hold no personally identifiable data about you, these rights are effectively already exercised by default.
